Colville Electric has been in one family for two generations — same name on the truck, same name on the invoice, same name answering the phone. That continuity is the difference between an electrician who shows up once and one who knows your building.
We work commercial and industrial accounts across Metro Detroit. We’ve wired pumping stations, factories, recycling centers, offices, and storefronts — and we’d rather take a small job and do it right than chase headlines.
Jim Colville always knew he’d be an electrician. He joined the Navy at 17 to become just that. He served aboard the USS Blackfin, a diesel-electric submarine, then came home to Detroit. Starting as an electrician at Chrysler and, later, an electrical inspector for the City of Detroit.
In 1973, a few months after marrying his wife Ginnie, they decided that they would start their own business. Colville Electric was born out of their home — and the family-business mentality stuck.
